This dataset includes over thirty thousands building permits issued by the Planning and Design Department of the City of Lethbridge. The Planning and Design Department collects information on permit applications and updates when reviewing the application and inspecting the work on the issued permit. Each permit is registered with permit number, permit type, building location, application date, issue data, completed date, work, etc.

Building permits and building permit applications for residential and non-residential construction. Building permits are based on the Safety Codes Act, Permit Regulation and Alberta Building Code. Plan reviews and site inspections are provided to ensure all new construction and alterations within the City of Lethbridge are safe. Subtrade permits and applications are for residential and non-residential projects, including electrical, plumbing, gas and heating permits. Development permits approve the use of a site, as well as the size and location of any buildings or structures. It is written approval from the City that development plans meet the City of Lethbridge Land Use Bylaw regulations.
